About us

The Shanks started in Chad's basement, gathering with friends to sing karaoke with Darin on the drums and Calvin/Chad on various instruments playing along.  One night Darin wanted to try a song without the karaoke backing track and the training wheels went by the wayside.  The Carroll Municipal golf course had a band emergency and were looking for some professionals to come save their annual 4th of July bash, so the Shanks stepped out of the basement and into the heat for the 1st time and have been gathering momentum ever since.
